My art jewelry is based mostly in sterling silver with accents of 14k, 18k,
22k Gold, and copper. I begin with a one-of-a-kind cabochon for art pendants and
let the process develop itself. I make each piece unique by hand sawing, shaping, setting, texturing and
finishing. Each piece is sold with a signed and numbered certificate and
care instructions and a box or velvet pouch with my logo.
I often like to understate jewelry for the ears when an art pendant is worn.
I can supply earring studs in many different stones, both en cabochon or
faceted.

Modern technology has enabled scientists to duplicate natural gems in a laboratory environment. The terms synthetic and lab-created describe a stone that has been manufactured so that its composition is virtually the same as that of its natural counterpart.
Be sure to differentiate the terms above from the term “simulated,” which means imitation.
The lab-created gems do not display lack of color clarity and do not have imperfections that some of the natural gems exhibit.
Lab-created stones allow the artist to employ the colors of some precious stones without having a prohibitive cost in the finished piece.
The use of a lab-created stone should be disclosed, but then it is your secret to share or to keep to yourself.
Most jewelry lovers will own both natural and lab-created stones.

Enamel in its dry form is a glass powder somewhat finer than granulated sugar. A base coat of enamel is fired onto the metal base in a kiln. The base is usually fine silver, fine gold, or copper. Fine silver or fine gold (24K) cloisonné wires (and in some cases copper) are shaped and positioned onto the base coat. The wires are fired in place and subsequently the cells are packed with multiple layers of enamel, with firing between each layer, converting the layers to solid glass. The beautiful depth in the enamel piece is created by the layering and by blending and shading the colors in each layer. As many as 20 firings are required in some cases.
The gorgeous color depth cannot be appreciated from a photo!
A photo cannot show the color play and shading in this eye-catcher!
